Located in Haute-Savoie, the Aiguille du Midi is a summit in the Mont-Blanc massif, above Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. At 3,842 meters high, it is the highest needle in the region. On the main summit, a tower stands bearing telecommunication antennas and represents the current highest point. The aiguille is the arrival point of the cable car from Chamonix and also the departure point of the Vallée Blanche and the Panoramic Mont-Blanc cable car which crosses the Géant glacier to the Helbronner point. This summit is composed of three pitons, the North piton rising to 3,795 meters, the Central piton 3,842 meters high and the South piton. The site offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys such as the Aiguilles de Chamonix, the Aiguille Verte, the Talèfre glacier, the Grandes Jorasses, etc. For a feeling of grandeur and breathtaking scenery, the Aiguille du Midi is the perfect site. Beyond its ascent, Chamonix is the ideal terrain for winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, sledding.
